Stricture ??

I am almost 7 months post-op and need advice from some of you experts. I've had no complications so far, but for the past couple of days I've been a little nauseated. No vomiting, just not feeling real well and not wanting much to eat. How long will it be before I can stop worrying about complications, such as a stricture? I am especially concerned because I am a self-pay, and if I have any complications I will be in the poor house for sure. Do any of you experience some times that you just don't feel well, even after a year or so?

Yes - sometimes I can eat more than other times and sometimes I may just not feel quite right.  Depends on the mood of my pouch I guess. From what I remember, a stricture can happen at any time, but is most common in the first weeks after surgery when you're still healing. Hope you're feeling better and that you're just a little "off" and not suffering anything more serious (and costly!).

Hi Wanda. I go thru those times too, but its something to definitely keep track of. You don't want to let something go just in case it could be truly something. There are so many variables so its really hard to say what could be causing you to feel this way. Its always a smart idea to listen to your body and trust your instincts. I hope that it passes soon so you don't have to worry and don't end up in the poor house! Keep us posted on how you're feeling!

Thank y'all for your replies. I am feeling better. I guess I just had a bug or something. I was back down to eating about 300 calories a day, like right after surgery, and just kept getting weaker and weaker. But today I'm back to normal. Thanks again. (One reason I feel so good, I've lost 112 pounds as of today, which puts me below 200 for the first time in nearly 20 years.)

Please forgive my ignorance, what is stricture? Is it something you can get from ANY of the WLS? Thanks!
