Help Please
Hi Everyone!
I feel so down and sad....I had my rny surgery June 2005 and lost a total of 120 pounds...still needed to lose about 40 pounds. I have been under a great deal of stress recently lost my step-mom to cancer and I have been helping take care of her for over 6 months. I recently got on the scale and I'm up 17 pounds............OMG am I going to gain this weight back? What can I do to get back on track is it even possible?
Please help me...........I've come to far to go backwards.....
Hugs.

Barb,
Because of 2 foot surgeries, I had recently regained 12 lbs back. 5 days ago, I decided to do something about it. I upped my water back to where it should have been (a minimum of 64 oz/day), I started drinking protein drinks again (2 AchievOne/day), and I started walking at lunchtime (2 miles) for a total of 5-6 miles daily. I'm happy to say, I have relost 5 of those pounds so far! I have heard it said by people further out that to kick start the losing again, increase one or more of PEW: Protein, Water, Exercise.
These all seem like 'yeah, I know, but...' when you're depressed, but each of them can help to alleviate the depression and help with coping mechanisms.
Best wishes!

Hi Barb,
I just wanted to say by your photo's I think you look fabulous. One of the things I do is I keep an old and new photo taped to my bathroom mirror so I look at it every morning. I also carry an old photo around with me. I do angel visits to the hosptial and new patients would look at me and you could tell they were saying to themself what is she doing here until I showed them my before photo. Then it would click and they could relate to me. So every morning if you see how you looked before and how great you look now you will start your day off with just a little more thought to what you need to do to maintain the weight you want to be at. You know what you did to lose the 120 that is what you need to keep doing. Hope this helps a little.

Kim,
Thank you so much...what you said did help. I'm really hard on myself sometimes but you are right I looked at my before photo and I have come so far...............so I 've had a little backslide, I can get these extra pounds off...I got 120 off.
Thank God for these boards and the wonderful people on them...they have gotten me through every step of this journey.
Thank you again!
Hugs.
