Life is too short to eat lousy food!

1.  First name or name you go by on the boards: Tracy A. 2.  Surgery type: RNY 3.  Surgery date: Aug 16 and 19, 2001 (I had complications) 4.  How far post-op: 5.5 years post op 5.  Highest weight: 320+ 6.  Day of sugery weight: 311 (I think, can't really remember) 7.  Goal weight: 150 8.  Current weight: 168-170, it varies 9.  Low weight post-op if different than current weight: 150 10.  Biggest struggle as a post-op: for the last 2 years I have stuggled with having gained some weight back and being stuck right around 168 for the longest time.  My goal is to get back to 150ish, but it hasn't been going well.  The other struggle is the loose skin around my waist and hips.  I HATE IT!!!  It looks terrible and is really bothering me.  I want it removed but it just isn't the right time for me yet.

To attain excellence, you must care more than others think is wise, risk more than others think is safe, dream more than others think is practical.

I'm thrilled I did the surgery.  Best way to spend $16,000 I ever found. -Pam

I joined a gym last year to help with the weightloss, but it takes forever to find a parking spot. Walking is available but the weather has been cold.  During the day at work, my meals are perfectly timed, no cravings or anything. I get home at night, and after dinner I crave sweets--chocolate kisses (2-3 a night) or tortilla chips with sour cream. I don't eat bread which I would say is great.

Hey  Sweetie ... So sorry I've been among the missing but I do check in occasionally.  I'm glad you're doing well; had I known you were in the midst of so much, I certainly would have been more supportive.  Here's my info: 1.  First name or name you go by on the boards... Melissa 2.  Surgery type... Duodenal Switch 3.  Surgery date... 11/19/04 4.  How far post-op... 27-1/2mos 5.  Highest weight... 321 lbs 6.  Day of sugery weight... 312-1/2 lbs 7.  Goal weight... 130 lbs 8.  Current weight... 130 lbs (or less) 9.  Low weight post-op if different than current weight... due to unpredictable edema, I fluctuate approx 10 lbs on a regular basis -- but never go over 135 lbs!! 10.  Biggest struggle as a post-op... figuring out how to answer this question!! ...  Thru the grace of God and this surgery, life is so much easier, so the struggles are few... I am very careful about what I eat because that works for me; protein always first and I love to push my body as far as it will go.  Considering the fact that I was bedridden pre-op, there ain't much to complain about.  It's like recovering addicts say: "My worst day 'sober' is still better than my best day high"...  I continue to challenge myself in every way I can and remember I've been given a gift that I must do the best I can with each and every day.
