b. Getting consistent on the exercise again. Given my medical issues of the past couple of months (breast cancer), I just haven't been to the gym and know it would do my body and spirit a whole lotta good.

Hi
I have never been on this board. I am a support group leader in Fort Lauderdale Florida.

Open RNY

Seven years Post-op
240 highest weight
150 goal weight
110 lowest weight
118 today's weight
Biggest struggle is maintaining my weight. I still do the yo-yo routine but now only 10-15 pounds.
Running a support group for veterans helps me maintain my commitment. Staying connected with my goal and never buying a bigger size in clothing no matter what keeps me on the right path.

Hi Kathy,
I will be 5 years post op at the end of the month. About 1 year after my RNY, I began to have this horrible pain in my chest, mainly on the right side. The pain started on the right side under the breast and then it radiated over my sternum. The pain became so unbearable, I was unable to work ( I am a nurse). I had to take pain medicine that turned me into a zombie. The pain continued for over 2 and a half years! It got so bad, I wanted to die. They never did find the cause so they started to say it was either nerve pain or even "in my head". I have never felt worse in my life! Only by the Grace of God did it go away! Seriously, I was wanting to die I was so miserable. I started to pray to ask God to take it away and that is just what He did. Now I am back to normal and can work and be a wife and a mother. I was just wondering if you had the same type of pain? I hope you are not hurting like I was.

Sara,
I noticed your Dr. and my mother is 60 years old, has been morbidly obese her entire life and just had Dr. LePort do a lap RNY in January. She is doing well and was really impressed with him. Athough we live at different ends of the state after my experience she went forward with hers. I am so excited to see her progress through pictures and e-mails. I had not seen Dr. LePort's name on this site before, so just thought it was kind of cool.
I also enjoyed this little excercise, it was interesting to see other's information.
Take care,
Helen
