Insurance coverage after WLS

Does anyone know if insurance will pay for surgery after the fact. I was told my insurance would not pay for surgery so I did not even try to get it covered. But now I am hearing United Health does sometimes cover it. Can I submit for coverage 1 1/2 years out. I am paying dearly for my surgery and if I could get rid of some of the debt I might be able to have some plastics done. WOULDN'T that be great. (Because I can't afford them now.) Tina

I'm in medical coding and almost every insurance has a 1 year statute of limitations on filing for claims. I would say your'e out of luck on this one.
