Are any of you having this problem??
I find now that I am almost to my 2 year mark that I find it hard to stop grazing. I think I developed this habit during the first year just to make sure I was getting enough food and protien in. Now that I can eat more or basically keep more down I can't seem to get rid of the "habit". Now I am going to be getting a tummy tuck and I don't want to gain wait. I have been pretty luck considering that I haven't gained any weight back. Well I flucuate between 5 pounds but I consider that normal. Although I will be getting a hysterectomy too so that flucuation may not be there anymore after that is done. Anyway, I need to stop that. Have any of you had this problem? I am worried about it.
Thanks
Paula
Hi Paula,
Just wanted to say that I had exactly the same "habit" start from the same thing....snacking that whole first year just to be sure to get in the protein, etc. Then all of a sudden, to turn it around to 3 meals and two snacks is hard. Be careful is all I can say....I've had significant weight gain in my third year out, and I believe alot of it was due to this habit. (And bad food choices) As long as you're making good choices, I don't think it's it will have a terrible effect. But just keep an eye on it.
Best of luck! Theresa
Good luck to you! I know how hard that maintaining can be. I don't want that to happen to me so I feel I needed to recognize the issue and dealing with it. I know that my choices for meals are not usually bad but even grazing on the wrong foods can be a disaster in the making. I am hoping that I will be able to control myself. I am addicted to chocolate and I can eat a little without dumping but I keep going back to a hershey kiss here and a hershey kiss there and then through out the day I have eaten a bunch of them. I probably ate like 20! Well I am not sure but it wouldn't surprise me. Someone bought them in the salon and I am addicted to Hershey's! I buy those 100 calorie snack bags and I can eat like 3 in a day and then I think that is 300 calories!!!! So I am here to say "NO MORE!" We need a support group for snackers!
Best of luck to you too, I know you can do it!

I find I have the same problem and due to the same reason.
I ammtrying to stop it now and it is hard because I am use to having to get the protein in. I am thinking of going with a protein supplement so I can stop worrying and cut back on the grazing.
My question for you is are you having the TT and hysterectomy done at the same time?
Tina
Yes I am trying to have both at the same time. I am waiting to hear back from the insurance. It will definately be nice if it all works out.
Funny how know one tells you about this habit of grazing and warns you! Hehe! I have really cut back as of recently but I tell you I go to my pantry without even thinking and then I go what the heck am I doing here?? But just in the last couple of days I feel less bloated because I have cut back and done more around the house to keep my big head out of the kitchen!

Paula I just passed my 2 yr anniversary on the 8th and this is the reason I don't keep anything but a nut mix with cranraisans I mix myself and popcorn in the house other than a smoked salmon I buy from the fish store...this way if I get hungry I can eat the salmon cold (great for protein) and if I want crunch or sweet, I have that with my nut mix. I reached my goal and had my tummy tuck already and trust me there is no room for anymore than a 3-5 lb gain so I really need to watch plus I don't want to gain so I really do get on my scale daily.
HI Paula! Yep, I could graze all day too. I went thru a time when I gained a few pounds and I was thinking "what the heck is wrong?" Then I started to track my food at sparkpeople and I realized exactly what was wrong~ I was grazing!!!!! So, had to put a stop to that quickly!!! I do have my days, especially the week before that time of the month, that I find myself doing this behavior again~I just try very hard to gain control of myself as soon as possible!
Good Luck!
