I am 30 yrs old and had open rny on feb 15,2005 at overlake hospital. I am now down to 100lbs from 280lbs and have actually vigiliantly followed dr orders but I have uncontrollable nausea and vomiting which have caused the dramatic weight loss. Has anyone else delt with this??? please help dr say no to reverse as I am too small to handle that major surgery.

How tall are you and what is your B.M.I.? I'm not quite underweight but I'm almost 5'4 and I weigh 108 pounds.. I lost my weight real fast and now I'm sticking to a size 0.. My Doctor told me to drink ensure along with my meals.. I know we are not allowed to drink with our meals but have you tried that to see if you can gain a little back? I also vomit a lot of times.. Sorry I couldnt be more help but I will pray for you.. xoxo, Kristy

Brandi, Who has deemed you "underweight"? Unless you are quite tall, and from what you wrote you are now at 180lbs. I started at 237 and now weight 120-123, and I'm 5'4"...I lost my first 100lbs in 10mos, then went on to lose 12 more after my TT. MOM

Hi MOM!! She said she's now 100lbs (not 180lbs), but I am also curious as to how tall you are?? 100lbs is pretty tiny no matter what your height though. Brandi, what has your surgeon done about the constant throwing up?? Are you maintaining at this weight or are you still losing?? Tracy B

Oops, Early morning brain fart. Thanks for correcting me. LOL I know I saw my surgeon for a brief moment on Tues and he stopped, looked at me and said, you need to gain atleast 5lbs. LOL So I'm HOPING she has been in contact with her surgeon. I know I would be. MOM

Have you discussed an anti-nausia med w/your dr? they do have them. I would look into it. Find food that you can tolerate and stick w/them. A couple of suggestions. Hopefully they help. Molly
