Hi. My first message since my bypass on Jan 9 2007. First I had 3 areas of importance that had to met before I could have surgery. I search hight and low contacted many Dr.s locally and in other states. Here's the 3 areas I had some problems with. 1. I am Jehovah's Witness. No blood transfusion (a big issue with the other Dr.s) 2. I need a revision. (had a Melina Band in 84). and 3. Medicare has no filicites in Arkansas (hospital of excellence). After many inquiries searching from May 06 till Oct 06 I finally found Dr. N. Patel on San Antonio.TX. Told him by e-mail what my requirments were and according to what I had read in his transcript sounded like he coul help me. I e-mailed him and he said he was sure he could help me. Went to San Anton completed the requirements then waited to hear from Dr. Patel/Staff. I was so excited when I received confirmation and got surgery date. My surgery (usually a 2 hour procedure) turned into a 5 hour one. Dr. Patel was so wonderful. Ran into problem areas he had never encountered before and asked himself what would Sue want. With that and devine guidence he was very successful!! He cares deeply for his patients and puts your requests first. I just can't say enough about him, his staff and the hospital staff. All are above excellence You don't have to be a JW to want bloodless surgery. Proven one heals faster has less complications, less risks of infection. There are alternatives Dr. Patel knows to increase your recovery using fractions if needed. A great team Dr. Patel
