i posted 2 pics on my page
I posted a before and 1 week post TT pic....dr said he's going to need to do another surgery to finish removing all the skin. he said it was way more than he thought. so when i go in for me BL/BA he'll finish the job. what do you all think about how it looks? can you tell a difference yet??? i had to black out the pubic lift part but that was a major part of the surgery too....
Hmm sweetie.....know you know I love you so don't get mad when I say this.....
10 grand and the he doesn't finish the job. As soon as your drains are out he should take you back in and finish his work. You are going to have more drains it looks.
You should not have to pay him to do your BL/BA before you get the tummy finished...whats he gonna say then, I didn't do the breasts was too much work so I will do them later.....think strong on this before you make any decisions here.
well i thought the same as you but everyone in my family keeps telling me that i have too high of expectations on how much skin can be removed. i totally disagree. i think it looks worse now because it's smaller on the bottom and now the roll below my boobs (which i told him bothered me more than anything) is still there. i'm not quite sure what he did with the vertical incision...it doesn't look like he took any skin away! don't you agree? i just don't know how to approach him about this whole situation. i don't know if i should go to a different doc for a second opinion or to one of the other doctors in the practice or to the practice manager...i'm not sure what to do.
Steph go in and tell him you saw another surgeon for a 2nd opinion but I wouldn't pay the money for another opinion since they will charge you knowing you alreasdy had surgery. Cry scream carry on that he needs to do it right. I would and I had mine completely paid for however you know I didn't have as much weight to loose so I never had that area hanging...mine was were I had a cut for my endometriosis surgery back in the 80's and gaining weight in 2001-2004 made the skin hang, it didn't before I lost the weight from RNY.
My PS told me all the different type surgery and told me I did NOT need the anchor cut since that is for those who have what your problem was, he showed me pics so I had two to choose from, either just hip to hip or circumferential which was all around to back side and it meets like a heart shape in your butt...can't see a thing in bikini or thong I swear and yes I did have public lift though I did not need that but he told me last visit it is a given, it should be done if you are doing the surgery at all.
So here is how I feel about this...tell him now you want a revision and if he can't do it properly you want half the money back or he can have one of his partners do it correctly. I am sorry to be so blunt but I have found waiting for them to correct it without hurting their feeling is not the way to approach it or anything even a bad haircut. My belly button is protruding a tiny bit and my left hip has a tiny bump not even the size of a small egg and my PS is going to revise this without my wimpering but I did bring it to his attention my first visit after all my drains were out so Jan 3 was my last visit and my surgery was June 2...he brought it up this time and said its time to get approval to fix this...and trust me when I say no one else would have ever noticed this ever.
I know you are upset and me and the others are correct you need to get on him now...he will find every excuse to wait but am afraid he is looking for my dollars and you paid way too much as I see it...my PS, is chief at Tampa General Hospital and teaches at USF College of Medicine as professor and director of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He also holds the college's Juan Bolivar Endowed Chair in Surgical Oncology, and serves as a visiting professor at the Center for Cutaneous Research, Queen Mary Hospital, University of London and his charge was completely covered by my insurance since he was in my network and the charge was way less than 10,000 for circumferencial, whi*****luded his fee, anesthesia and one night in hopsital. My cost was 25.00.
That is money you had to pay out of hard earned cash you & hubby worked for and how long did that take or will it take to pay it back???? Now you must take the upper hand and demand he work for his money. I know this doesn't sound like me since I am usually pretty low key but I feel passionate about this for YOU.
i talked to hubby and i will be calling them tomorrow morning. i'm going to start with the practice manager and see how they approach getting these situations fixed. believe me they don't want me to go into ***** mode....it's not pretty at all. i'm just so upset that i cry every day about it....no one in my family understands...to them i look good but to me i don't. they just say "you'll never be happy". oh WHATEVER. i'll keep y'all informed though what they say tomorrow.
I had the anchor cut tummy tuck done and all of the skin was removed and pulled tight in one surgery. I didn't have quite as much skin as you, but I wouldn't think that would matter. Mine didn't cost as much either. I had three procedures done and my total bill wasn't but 9,256.00.
I know you have been so excited about this tummy tuck. I hate it didn't turn out like you had hoped. But I think you are justified in questioning the work that was done on you. I would make the surgeon get it right for as much as you had to pay him. I don't think your expectations were too much. Just go and look at Amy Williams' before and after pictures. She had a good bit of skin and her surgeon did a wonderful job in just one surgery. There are many others I have seen on here that had a great deal more skin than you who have shared their pictures and had great results in one surgery. Do some research and go in there armed with information and make him make you happy. It is your money and you deserve to be pleased with the work.
Keep us posted on what happens. Good luck.
Love ya,
Melissa
I will email you my after pictures. My surgeon took before pictures. She said I could get copies of them from her. I am supposed to have a followup appointment with her this month. I will see what I can do. My anchor cut is pretty long. My incisions are hip bone to hip bone and then the other one goes up about 5 inches or so above my new belly button. I don't mind the scars because the skin is gone.

i'm interested to hear who did your plastics (and can i see the pics too?) email [email protected]
i had a consult with a plastics guy at Univeristy last week...i'm still early in researching this part of it. hoping to do something mid to late summer. i've been stable at this weight for 3 months....would like to lost another 20 pounds...but this weight is healthy and realistic for me.

I, too, had the 'fleur de lis' abdominoplasty as my PS likes to call it. My PS was done last July. I was cut hip bone to hip bone and the vertical incision is almost 5 inches. I do still have some swelling in my pubic area. I call it my 'Ken Doll' look. Others call it a camel toe. I would be glad to share pics if you like. Please get your PS to take care of the rest of your TT before your BL/BA. He should have known ahead of time just how much skin, etc, you had. That's what he gets paid the big bucks for. My total cost was $8200 and that's here in So Cal where the prices are so much more than elsewhere.
