Im 17 months out and just started noticing this as well. Im wondering if its a side effect of the surgery that we dont hear much about??

i had surgery in 2001 and back in 2003 i went to the dr and he told me i have an ulcer. gave me nexium...too expensive...buy over the counter stuff as needed. seems like coincidence to me......try zantac 75 or whatever it is called and see if it helps. tammy

My Dr. told me I have it but I don't have the signs at all ? No burning pain all I do is caugh and have my bed up high and took those pills didn't work at all. So I am tired of getting all the cough but didn't have it before i had surgery in 2001 JENNY

I have my 1 year post op doctor visit today. I was planning on asking him about the acid relux (which I've had since age 18). I thought it would go away... but it never really did. And lately it's gotten worse. I take prilosec otc daily. Laurie

i am 3 years post op now but when i was about 1 year out i found that i had an ulcer. i still get burning at times but i take prilosec and it helps. my surgeon had mentioned in his educational speech prior to the surgery that RNY WLS does have a chance of causing ulcers. to me this is a minor thing compaired to the benfits i've gained from the surgery.
