question about ground beef?

I am almost 21 months out and I have been doing Weigh****chers to get a 10 pound regain off(I have already lost 7 of it). Anyway I am doing the Core part of Weigh****chers but keeping protein as my top priority. The only Core approved ground beef is 93% lean and I am having the hardest time finding it. When you buy it does it say 93% lean on the package or is it ground round or ground sirloin? Any thoughts would be appreciated. I guess I need to ask someone in the meat department huh? I would ask someone else doing the program but I don't attend meetings, I just do it on my own. I usually just buy ground turkey because I know I can get away with that. Thanks in advance, Candy

Hi Candy. I find it right with all of the other groud beef~they usually have 93%, 85%, 80% and 73%~so you might just have to look. Usually the 93% is on the top shelf and they go downward from there. If you can't find it then ask at the butcher section and they can lead you in the right direction. Good Luck! Tracy B 328/150 5'9"

I am 3 1/2 years out and to be honest still don't do well with beef of any kind. I eat veggy burgers or other soy based products. They are really better for you anyway.

I usually look in the top of the rack too or in the middle rack. It should be labeled as 93% as required by the USDA. Go to a better grocery store. Not Walmart. Walmar'ts meats are fattier and usually contain saline additives. If you can't find it ask someone working there. they can help you.

It should also be darker...so look for the darkest you can find and start checking the labels
