Now I'm dropping on protein! I had a bowl of chili, no crackers and an hour later I was in the 60's and feeling funky. It's incredibly hard to lose wt when you have to keep eating all the time to keep your sugar up. I have the next set of labs done Friday. Then I'm supposed to wait another month and have them done again. I don't think that's gonna happen. I need some answers now!

Lyn - Hi - my sugar was dropping a lot and I called my WLC - this is what they told me to do. Eat 6 small meals a day and the one thing to do when my sugar dropped was eat Protein. But the key,was to eat 6 small meals. Do keep eating your protein any way you can get it. Take care - deb k

This is so Frustrating! I try to keep a protein bar with me at all times and at the first sign of my blood sugar dropping, I start eating it. I have found the LESS carbs I eat the better too. It seem counterintuitive to eat 6 "small" meals per day..but it does work. My Dr told me my body still thinks it's Fat so when I eat, it secretes enough insulin for my "old"weight--my blood sugar drops--and I have to eat to keep it normal. My body seems to be adjusting to the "new" weight, and the blood sugar drops are getting fewer and fewer. I hope yours gets better too!!

Has anyone had blackouts due to low blood sugar. My daughter had WLS 8-28-06 and has loss 100 pounds in only 5 months . She's been light headed a lot and had a seizure on the 3rd. No previous history of this. She had her 2nd seizure a couple of days ago while wearing a heart monitor.Every time they take her blood sugar the levels are ok.

hey Lyn! (again!) ... ok ... last week ... after prime rib (and a couple breadsticks) ... my blood sugar went down to 46. Go figure. I think you and I must have been made from the same mold. Talk to you soon ... Karyn
