what are the symtoms?

What are the symtoms of an enlarged stoma? I am having some issues and need to go back to see the surgeon after 2 and 1/2 years. I am hungry all the time. I have gained about 30 pounds and I am miserable. Hugs, Trudi

I guess the being hungry could be an enlarged stoma or a staple line disruption if your remnant stomach wasn't transsected (surgically separated) from your pouch. An endoscopy should be able to tell what is up in there. Good luck! Kathy

I posted a similiar question a few weeks ago. I didn't get that many responses, which is probably a good sign that this probably isn't a normal occurence. Please post what your surgeon says or email me personally when you find out something. Thanks, Donna

Trudi, eating more than recommended and not being satisifed can in fact be a sign of an enlarged stoma and as Kathy stated potentially a staple line disruption if not transected. Please let us know what your surgeon finds. Best wishes, Dana
