Help Please...
Hello All ,
My name is Beth and I posted somewere just now, so both posting may pop up, but anyway ...talking about being off track..I need some serious guiandnce...long story short..I had my RNY bypass in May of 04 and in one year I had lost 100 lbs starting at 336 and well found out that I was preguant at excatly to the day 1 year out of surgery and dont get me wrong my son is a beauitful God sent blessing ! But here is the thing...I was 226 when I got preggo and gained almost 60lbs and I am stuck , when I first had him I lost 15 lbs , but I have gain that back and here I am at 260 again...I am so scared and I dont want to get any closer to 300 fearful pounds than I already am...
I know were I am doing wrong...I can almost eat anything espically junk food , I developed these habits while preggo and I just kept saying when I have my baby, Il get back to it and well I still crave carbs and fast food and well not getting much water these days , drinking diet and reg soda sometimes and dont even have the desire to work out...I so want to change though, but Its like I just dont have the wheel power again anymore.
I keep saying that I just need to go back to what I know staring w/ a liquid diet and excercise and water and more water...but then I just get hungery and well I fail again.
Hi Beth, so sorry you are having such difficulty. But you were successful before and you can be again. First I would suggest you go to your wls surgeon's office and get checked out, labs, etc. Talk with the dietitian/nutritionist. Join a support group, this is the time to lean on others to get the support you need.
You need to get rid of the junk, the regular sodas, the bad stuff that you know is a problem for you, just get it out of the house. When you are away from home, plan your meals by bringing stuff from home or going places where you can make wise choices.
And yes, exercise will help you immensely. Can you find an exercise buddy?
There are some accountablilty posts here, too. Do whatever it takes, but you need to work with the pouch, not against it. Don't drink with meals, eat solid protein first, then nonstarchy veggies and salads.
We're with you, there are many on this board who have experienced regain and are in the same boat. We can all support each other.
If you won't do it for you, do it for that baby, so you can be there for him in years to come---see him go to college, marry, have kids of his own.
Don't be a stranger.
Hugs,
Connie

Hi Connie,
Thank you...so much for all your s kind words of wisdom. BTW do you know how to update e-mail on here ?
[email protected] is my new one and I cant find a link to change it.
thank you, Beth
I'm sorry you're struggling right now Beth. You know what to do, you just need to get into the right mind set to follow thru. Getting back to basics is a great idea~that doesn't mean you have to go on a liquid diet gain, but push protein first, drink lots of water, exercise, etc. You can track your calories on fitday or sparkpeople to see realistically where you're at. Your tool while still work if you put it to work~it might not happen as quicky now, but it WILL work!! Good Luck and keep us posted!
