How much is everyone losing?

well I am almost through my 1st week back on track. I ate protein ALL week, no white carbs at all. I drank crazy water and didn't cheat once. I weighed myself this morning (started on monday) and I lost 2lbs!!! ;( I thought that it was going to be such a switch to my body that I would lose more than that the 1st week. Am I doing something wrong? The weight is just sticking to me and doesn't want to shed. This happened before. In 2 weeks of doing nothing but protein, I lost 2lbs. That is ridiculous!!!! How much is everyone else losing each week? Is there something more that I should be doing? I haven't been exercising b.c my baby and I have been really sick. Any advice would be great!!! Congratulations for getting back on track!!!! Hey, 2lbs is 2lbs~that's great!!!! I am currently in maintenance mode, but when I go up a few pounds sometimes they come back off so easily and other times I have to REALLY work at it. Hopefully you'll get to feeling better so you can get some exercise in~that will probably give you an extra boost!!!! You just keep doing all of the good things that you're doing and the weight will come off! How much are you trying to lose?? Sometimes when we get down pretty close to our goal it can be so damn hard to lose those last 10-20lbs!!! Good Luck! Tracy B

Hi Tracy, I had a baby 9 months ago, so I have 25lbs of baby weight to lose. My metabolism has just stopped since I had her. I don't know what to do to get it moving again. doesn't seem to matter how good I am with my food, the weight won't shift. Any suggestions? Philippa

Hmmm, I don't know if I have any great advice other than to keep doing everything that you're doing b/c it sounds like you're on the right track! Sometimes our bodies just don't want to let go of any weight and that pretty much sucks! I know Dana went back to a liquid diet for a week (I think it was 1 week) and she did very well~it kick started her again. Not sure if this is an option for you or not??Also, finding that fine line between too many calories and too few calories is difficult sometimes~if we go too high no loss and if we drop too low no loss~are you tracking on fitday or sparkpeople so you can look for any trends? First of all, losing 2lbs a week is a respectable weight loss - there's nothing wrong with that. You're much smaller than you use to be pre-op, so your "first week" isn't going to be the spectacular losses you saw back in the beginning. YOU think it's your first week, but your body knows you've been restricting it for a long time time. Secondly, to increase your metabolism, you're going to have to exercise. If you've been sick, that's fine - give yourself a break, but also take that into account when you're evaluating your weight loss. Keep doing the right things - even if you don't lose another pound, your body needs that protein and water and exercise, so feed it! --BT

2 lbs is great- I have been exercising an hour 5x per week and really being careful of what I eat and I actually gained 2 lbs. Hang in there the weight will come off it just might be alot slower than we are used to.

Oops I forgot to check-see if you are RNY before i got into the response window..but wondering if you water load before you eat and do you wait about an hour or so after you eat to drink anything?

Philippa - 2lbs is great! Remember your body takes a little time to catch up..... I did protein only and lost and then the next week gained 1lb then the next week I lost 5...... don't give up - you are doing great! I still have 5 more lbs that I want to loose.... the weekends stink for me, I always cheat (I had Mexican and then part of a Subway sandwich) I do so much better when I am at work but I am determined. Also I have not had a cigarette for 2 days - I have to be free for 6 weeks to have my PS so I am on a mission - no cigarettes and no gaining weight. I have decided to exercise everytime I want one or want to graze, you should see me dancing around the living room! I think my dogs think I am nuts! Hang in there - I promise your body will start reacting! I am here for you! Valerie

I have been doing really well back on track for two weeks. The first week-END though, I blew it and didn't lose or gain. This week-end wasn't great, but NO SWEETS and much better than it had been. Sunday am I was down two pounds, but then yesterday - my 'offical' day - I was one pound higher than starting! This morning, it still showed two down like Sunday, so I decided to claim that as loss and use that as encouragement to look for even lower next week! Two pounds is a healthy recommendation for 'normal' folks, so be proud and keep up the good work - don't lose focus!
