Question for those who are two years post op
I hope everything goes well with your surgery. I'd have alot of questions about that too. Will you have to go on thyroid meds after surgery???
No, I don't have a fear of losing too much weight, LOL! That will never be a problem that I'll be blessed with I'm sure. I wear a 6 or an 8 depending on the manufacturer. I really feel most comfortable when I'm smaller~if I gain even 5lbs up to around 155lbs I do not feel good about myself at all. I'm sure its more mental than anything b/c my bmi would still be excellent at that weight, but mentally I don't like it and I don't think I look good physically. Its crazy how our minds work!
Well, I'm glad things are going well for you and hope that it continues in the future for you!!!!!!!!

Hi Janet -- I'll be 3 years in April -- started at 272 and my lowest last winter was 135 (I'm 5'5") and size 8. I've always been a "curvy" girl and at my lowest had lost most all of my defining curves -- including my butt which I never imagined in my wildest dreams. I've gained back up to about 165 (size 12) and have decided my best weight (which I'm working at getting back to) would be about 150 and a size 10. After I gained some weight I had quite a few people tell me I had been too thin (is that really possible -- yep) and I agree. I hated not having my "curves" and am much more comfortable now and feel more "girly". Everyone is different and you have to be comfortable in your own skin. Exercise is a big factor and I work out 4-5 times a week. I still don't have much muscle, but I am more toned. My legs and thighs look like sharpei puppies and I know it will never go away no matter how many muscles I get.... I just am used to it (and being tan helps)!
If you will feel better a little heavier -- do what feels best for you. Remember -- they are only numbers -- your weight, your size.... they are not that important. Just be healthy and feel good for yourself. Remember to eat your proteins and stay away from the carbs and sugar as much as possible.
Best of luck to you.

Thank you, Jane! You know where I'm coming from..I have people close to me telling me I'm way too thin..I really thought they were just jealous, but my husband took me by the sholdiers and looked hard into my eyes and said, "don't you see it"?!..Well, something just clicked and I really do see it..I AM too skinny. I am like oliveoil from the popeye cartoon!! NO CURVES at all..flat deflated butt, no boobies, and I really have to wear things tight to my waist to define it. Yes, I'm with you on this..I am going to feel much better and look much better with a little weight gain.
Janet -- just checked out your profile and no wonder we click -- we're close in age and birthday. I'll be 47 on 5/23. woo hoo
Although I loved the "featherweight" feeling I had at my lowest weight -- I'm sure I was in jr. high the last time I weighed 135 lbs -- I feel much better now and more "like my age" at my current weight. My boyfriend tells me I have a "really nice butt in my jeans" -- never ever thought I'd hear that one.... It feels good to look girly.... enjoy... and if you ever need anything give me a holler!
BTW -- I never did lose my "girls" and had a reduction/lift done on them last summer -- best thing I ever did.

I am 2 years out - I weigh 155 pounds and fluctuate between 149 and 162 - well lets just say I "paniced" at 162 and quickly brought it back down below 160...
I am only 5'4" on a good day and I must have lots of skin and muscle because I wear between a 4 or a 6...one day I asked my husband if my butt looked big (I was at the 162 mark)...he got this real scared look on his face and said "THAT'S NOT FAIR"....
Actually, I feel best between 150-155 pounds - I get mentally scared above 155 pounds...but my husband likes me 155-160 pounds - he says I am too skinny yet I don't see it - must be because of all the skin...
I had an appointment with the plastic surgeon and then we have this opportunity to adopt a baby - so I cancelled the appointment - I would rather spend the money on a new baby than on ps...at least right now...ps may be later in my life - I hate my arms and legs...sharpai does not even describe my legs and arms...

Hi Alice!
When I met my husband I weighed about 170 and since then, for a while I fluctuated between 170 and 200, trying to control my weight with diet pills from a near by bariatric clinic. I went off diet pills and BOOM, within a year, I balooned up to 258. Anyway, my husband loved my big ole butt!
He was complaining there's nothing left now. This is funny..My friend bought me a padded hiney shape fix panty for Christmas..LOL I put them on and ask my husband, is my butt too big? He is none the wiser about the panties..LOL He just kept looking..His expression was Priceless!~LOL
I told him my body must be doing some shifting around..LOL
I know..false advertizing, but a girls got to do what a girls got to do!!! LOL
I just hope I can get the buns inflated again..pumped up with muscle!!!
