I let myself down

I've done horribly the last couple of days with this getting back on track stuff. Yestereday and today both I went with what was easy........eating out and drinking regular pop. Now I'm paying for it. I gained back one of the two pounds I had lost. I hate that I did this to myself. I'm trying not to beat myself up over it but it's hard. I know no one but me can set things straight. So I'll start again and do my best to stay with it.

Getting back on track is hard....I know I am there too! But don't beat yourself up....we have those days where things just don't work the way we want them....then we have tomorrow.....Tomorrow is another day....and its one day at a time. We can do it today! Find things to help you focus. Debbie

Hi Dawn. I've been through that as well. I did get off track and started grazing. For me, the longer I'm off track, the harder it is to get back on track. Making excuses to eat gets easier and easier. I am back on track since Monday and it feels good. I don't feel like a failure. I know that I would have been down more pounds now if I didn't graze. I am so thankful though that I didn't gain too much. I hate the yo-yo syndrome of losing and gaining the same pounds over again. I am thankful for this site and the support of fellow OHer's. At least I know that I am not the only one going through this and feeling this way. I know that I can do this and I am doing it again. Life is so much better now. You will get back on trac****ep in touch. Take care, Lucy

Something about being HOME is a serious trigger for me. I have really struggled the last couple of nights - they turned out okay but I ate more during the ice storm last week-end/Monday than I think most 'regular' people eat! I am scared to death of this week-end. Without setting myself up to make excuses, we really have to just take it a day at a time. If you screwed up yesterday, you have to do better today. If you screwed up this morning, focus on better choices this afternoon. You nailed it on who can control it, but just so you know, I AM RIGHT THERE WITH YA!

Hi Dawn: Just my two cents worth... First of all I know what it's like to let yourself down, and that has got to be one of the most difficult feelings to cope with because it all comes right back to us! That said, I congratulate you on your "can do" attitude and your ability to jump right back in there. I am confident that you will continue to be successful. Also, I definitely agree with the other posters about one day at a time...but you know what? Sometimes life comes at me so quickly that even dealing with one day can be difficult. I break it down into one hour at a time...sometimes even one minute at a time. Now that I can deal with. Maybe that would be helpful for you too. So you had a regular soda at lunch...that was three hours ago. Focus on the moment and make positive choices in the "now." Best of luck in your continuing journey! Maria W.

I am so there with you!! I just posted a very simliar topic. I have done awful and am so ashamed of myself. Why did I go through all the pain and suffereing of surgery just to mess up for a month? Anyway, at least we are acknowledging this and getting back on track. We could be doing poorly and not caring, ya know! We will hang in there!

Sorry your having these issues, they are not fun at all. However we are human and are going to go through these down times. You have lots of great support here and you will get yourself back on track. You have the knowldge and tools to do now where as before surgery this would have been the begining of the end for us. Hang in there hold your head hi and look at all you have acomplished...Feel proud and get your mind back on track. I know you can do it..We all can.. LisaMarie
