I am a RNY patient. Surgery sept.3.. 2003 I weighed 312 now OR I should say last month I was down to 158 but I am up to 165 this week. I am having a several issues.but I know as a professional you don't have time or want to hear everybodys problems. It is wonderfull to know someone in the medical field is going thru some of the things we are. I don't mean wonderfull that it happens but comforting to me that you might understand where I am. I am from north Alabama. Also it cought my attention athat you are from Houston. My son lived in the Woodlands untill almost 2 years ago. He moved to New Iberia La. Same co. but closer home. He had the surgery May of 2006 and doing well. I lost down to 180 and it seemed the weight loss sirgery had done what it was going to do. I then got on the a weight loss patch and have lost down to 158. Since they are Natural herbal products my PCP had a fit . I cwent off them the first of November. And now wanting to eat all time. Emotional feelings, tiredness, headace bowell problems again .SOO I started back on them Yesterday .My blood work had been wonderfull but he does not believe in Herbs. If thru your info. can you find a MD. in the Huntsville al area that works with the Natural health and preventive care. Thanks so much. Also do you know of a good Dr. in the New Iberia, Layafette La. area ?Talked too much. I wish you would be a coach to me getting back on tractsince you know what we can eat and take.I need despertly to find Med that we can take for arthitis since we cant take anti inflamatories.I am 66 and have joint damage with some fusions. They only will give me mepergan .What is the drink you have for breakfast? Again thanks and have a BLESSED day.I know a vitamin Guru that has health food stores and has some patient formulas that is sold in our drug stores around here .If you will email me with your email address I will have him to contact you. Or I can give you his business No. and email which wever you like. I saw him on TV .Met with him .I had been in hospital 3 times for dehydration due to diahrea.Excuse some of my spelling.I called ,asked if he was familar with gastric bypass he said yes. We met and he has me on some products. I have not had the problem any more. He is working with me now on the joint pain problem but my weight and age has already done so much joint damage it is a slow prosess.email me direct at [email protected] or [email protected].

the caffeine may be part of the problem - tha caffeine crash will get me and I find If I have no caffeine at all I feel so much better and more energetic. Maybe you need to look at your schedule and work out something a little more livable long term. Even tho you love what you do - there are no signs of balance there. You are probably not sleeping enough ( shown in various studies to contribute to weight gain) and not exercising on a daily basis is also likely sapping your energy. a good daily exercise routine - even 30 minutes a day will pump up your energy. all work day after day with no down time or recreation time is an unhealthy lifestyle. focusing on whole healthy good food rather than shakes and bars may also help. They seem to have a lot of ingrediants that are difficult to pronounce which is a warning sign to me.

Actually, you may be onto something with the caffeine suggestion. I have been limiting my caffeine intake to morning so that it doesn't interfere with my sleep (luckily, I am able to get close to 8 hours per night). It is altogether possible that part of my afternoon slump is caffeine wearing off. I'm cutting back slowly on caffeine and will be replacing my morning coffee with decaf next time I go to the store. Not being a morning person, the Achieve that I drink at 5am really does keep me going until 9am when I have my oatmeal or protein bar. I'm trying to stay away from shakes and going for real food that sticks around longer. Lunch is taken care of. I just need to work on grabbing that healthy snack around 3-4pm to keep my chugging along until dinner time at 7-8pm. Of course, I try to eat fairly light at dinner due to the late hour. Maybe that's a good place to put a protein shake. I knew I just needed some fine tuning and you all were the perfect little "mechanics!" Many Thanks!
