Hi, I sure hope this finds you all well. Has anyone noticed their arms are not as strong as before surgery? I am having a tough time lifting heavy items and moving furniture that was not a problem before surgery. I am almost 2 yrs out from surgery and never dreamed that I couldn't lift a heavy box or move a head board of the bed. How do I get back the strenght I used to have without going backwards and gaining weight(fat) - I don't know enough about weigh training to start that exercise...I don't want to hurt myself. Does anyone know of a good video or book that could help? Thanks for your help. deb k

I would post this over at the exercise and fitness board. You would probably get some really good answers there. Julie

Despite the fact that we concentrate on protein, the bottom line is during our weight loss process, we do loose muscle and it weakens us. I found that out the hard way 3 months ago when I got ready to move my sofa. What was once something that was easy for me to do alone, I had to have my hubby help me. It floored me how weak I was because I felt so energized!! Weight training is probably what your going to have as suggestions to get your strength back , just start back slow as to avoid any muscle injuries...Good Luck

Melanie - Thank you for the information, at least I'm not weird or anything like that, my husband told me that it was because not having all that weight behind me. Go figure...we had a good laugh anyway. Again thank you take care and may this year be a stronger and better year than last year, God bless...deb k
