hey Dana ... how are you doing? Hopefully this is just a routine visit with the pcp? My New Year's resolution is NO DOCS IN 2007. Well, that's not happening, but a girl can dream, can't she? Talk to you soon, Karyn

Thank you for the article. It explains why after a year I have to take more thyroid meds, not less. Torrey (281/175/160)

I just got home from the hospital after an ulcer, which the doctor (gastro specialist) said was the kind that only gastric bypass patients get. Anybody know what he means? Also, he put me on Carafate, but from this article it sounds like that may not help me much. Any clarification?

I have to say that since my WLS, I know that I don't absorb meds the same as before. A good example was the UTI I had last year that would not go away. They prescribed me the same stuff as always. Then when it didn't clear up, my doc put me on something different, still didn't clear up. So we switched to liquid meds and that did the trick within a few days. Another example is pain meds. After plastics I had to take 2 Perc-10's to relieve pain. I have a very high tolerance for pain anyways, so I was definitely hurting. Before plastics 1 perc-5 made me a Zombie. Vicodin, does zilch unless it's in liquid form. So I think that there is something there!
