Hello all and Happy New year. My ? is i was reading the rules of the pouch and it says we should only eat 1 and 1/2 cups at a meal. Well im good with that but it says we should eat things that stay with us longer . What would that be? I know this sounds silly but im almost 2 years out now and never read them at all. Dont get me wrong i have lost 130 so far but i want to lose another 30 if i can so I am going to work on this and get it done i know i can do it i have not gained any of the weight back so I think im still good. If anyone could help me i would love to hear it thanks so much Tammy

More dense food, like solid protein, will stay in the pouch longer and keep you feeling full longer. You've probably noticed that carb foods, fruit, softer foods, soups etc. leave you feeling hungry soon after eating them. Eat the same amount of chicken breast or beef and you will be unable to eat for quite awhile after. Hope this helps. julie

Chicken breast, any beef, fish, cheese, and eggs are dense foods that take longer to digest. I have found that eating a meal until I am full works way better than several small meals. I eat about every 5-6 hours and don't overeat. I rarely eat between meals and when I do, I only keep healthy low calorie options in my house, like jello sugar free puddings and pops, and jello, and cheese, celery with dressing, low carb bread for toast, and fruit. The fruit I limit because it's a high carb item and causes a rise in blood sugar and I am a diabetic, but no longer on meds at the moment. The pouch rules kept me going when I was afraid I wouldn't lose enough weight to help my health. I follow them religiously, and find I can eat enough to feel full and not even think about food very often. I have found myself occasionally thinking what do I want to eat, and then catch myself realising I didn't have room for anything! I think that would be called head hunger, and it's a *****! I think our first months need to be spent telling ourselves things like" I can't eat much" and " I like feeling thin" and "I don't really like to eat between meals" because I have heard what we tell ourselves ends up being what we think and feel. Good luck on your journey.
