protein drinks
Dana, from another group I'm in, it is suggested that proximal RNYers get at least 90 grams of protein from protein drinks a day and distals drink at least 120 grams.
As for getting back on track, high protein dense foods (chicken, beef, tuna, fish, eggs, cheese, etc) should keep you fuller longer. Decarbing yourself might be a struggle for a few days but once you get them out your system, if you are like me you'll feel much better.
Best wishes,
Dana
I'm not Dana but thought I would let you know what I drink... In the morning I will have a serving of the Carb Countdown Chocolate milk with a scoop of chocolate protein powder for a total of 32 g of pro. For later in the day I have found that after surgery the only pre-made shakes I can tolerate are the Atkins Advantage shakes. I know my Dr. recommends the EAS Edge shakes and I really liked those pre-op. Good luck to you!
The way I get myself back on track is to drink a protein shake for breakfast, lunch and then eat a low carb supper. I will allow myself to have some sort of snack like a peice of cheese or something. I drink the Isopure Dutch Chocolate protein powder. It is the best!! I have tried several different types of protein and nothing beats the chocolate Isopure. I do have at my house the Nectar Cappuccino and the Nectar Carribbean Cooler. I like them pretty good and it is something different to drink in between my chocolate shakes. By the way, I mix the Isopure Dutch Chocolate with water and it tastes like a choclate Yoo Hoo drink.
I agree with Dana, 90-100 a day for Proximal, more if your distal/DS .I get between 84-120 a day. I drink those tubes of Liquid Whey protein at 42 grams a pop combine that with maybe an achiev one at 20 grams and the protein from food, it's actually pretty easy for me to reach it without thinking. I like the ready made stuff. I'm too lazy to run the blender like I used to!
