I am 1 year out and have recently been starting to get severe pains across my belly button and back. I am pretty sure it is gas and have taken a Gas-X - which doesn't seem to be helping....does anyone else get major gas and if so - what do you do to relieve it. I think I got it from drinking water to fast this morning....

Thats when my gas pains started. They seem to ease up a little further out. Gas X does help, some. I find if I sit down and bend forward, and sit like this for awhile it eventually moves. I know that sounds stupid, but it works. Rhonda

Thanks. Sitting down and leaning forward is pretty much what I do. Unfortunately the pain lasts about 8 hours....UGH....now I just have to try and figure out what causes it so that I can stop it.

I notice more gas when I eat certain foods, so I try to avoid them as much as possible. Anything with sugar/sugar alcohol is a definite trigger, broccoli (LOL) and other veggies, starchy foods..........it helps to keep me on track b/c my body doesn't want to accept the sugars and bad carbs. GasX didn't do much for me either so now I just try to eliminate it b4 it even begins. Good Luck! Tracy B 328/150 5'9"

I'm also a year out and recently had the same kind of pain. I had been eating more crackers lately at holiday functions. Since I've knocked that off, the problem had improved noticably. HTH Lunchlady

I have had a really bad gas problem since the surgery. It is really bad. Maybe I should try gas x.... is that okay for our pouches? Is it okay to take when you are pregnant?
