I was on day 8 and out of the blue I got sooo sick, my belly was in knots my bowels were gurgleing , i had diahrea (sp) and I was throwing up for hours...I am pretty sure it was the repleva because everything was black in color...I was sick for about 6 hours and thought about going to the ER but i was pretty sure it was the Repleva and I would be better off at home. I am better today but my poor muscles in my belly are so sore from all the throwing up... I need to drink a lot of fluids today because I did not get anything in yesterday. Hopefully I will be seeing the hemotologist soon and he can help. for now, no more repleva Donna

I was put on Rx Trinsicon, since RNY pts lack the intrensic factor, our bodies can absorb it better, and I havent had any side effects from it and it works great! Rosemary

Donna, No by mouth iron has ever helped me...OTC and script but don't despair, your hemotologist will determine if it is too low and if so he will probably set you up for a series of IV infusions, I had Infed after having problems (allergic reaction) with another IV iron. By the way my iron problems go back to childhood, not a result of RNY but it can make it worse. Also hemoglubin can be normal and ferrittin as bad as 0 so be sure to always ask for your ferritin, my hemo does all the blood in mins in his office but the ferrittin has to go out and takes a few days. I get tested every 3 weeks for last 27 yrs. As long as you stay on top of it you should be fine. Good luck and keep is posted.
