Happy New Year to all !!!!! I finally received some lab results, but have realized that I go to a PCP who just may "not get it" when it comes to post Gastric Bypassers. It was like pulling teeth to get any type of labs drawn. Here is what I got of significance: Sodium 141 Potassium 4.6 BUN 12 Creat. 0.7 Calcium 8.8 Total Protein 6.9 RBC 3.91 Hgb 11.4 Hct 33.7 Platelets 279 They "forgot" to draw my Throid Studies even thought that is one of the main reasons I went to him. They of course said all my labs are normal- but I have a feeling they are too much on the "low" side. I am almost 4 years post op (3/3/03 - Open RNY). Started at 253-- down to 110 -- up to 135 and feeling miserable about the gain. Any and all opinions needed-- Vitalady-- what do u think? Thanks !!!! Kera

Kera, Can you post what your lab's normal ranges for each of those are? Each lab is a bit different in how they rate "normal". Did the doc do ferritin level? TIBC? % Sat? Other vitamin levels? PTH? You are within your rights to pick up an actual copy of the results. Kathy

Your hemoglobin and hematocrit are "normal" for a woman, but by my book, low. Everything else looks good.
