protein drinks
I'm a year and half out, and I still have a protein drink every morning. I buy the ready to drink cans and grab one on my way out the door in the morning.
I had stopped drinking them for awhile, but my hair started falling out again and my nails were peeling down to the skin. I feel like I'm much more healthy when I drink them.
I eat solid foods the rest of the day. Just that one drink for breakfast with 35 grams of protein.
Hi Dana:
Wow! Six years! That's awesome! I am just over a year and had my annual appointment with my Surgeon/NUT and was asking the same question. They felt that continuing to drink protein shakes was just fine as long as I get most of my nutrients from food. I drink one shake a day for breakfast...fuzzy navel Nectar and Crystal Light Orange. That gives me 23 grams of protein and a good jump start on the day. On a rare occasion, if I don't meet my protein requirements for the day, I may sip on one in the evening as well.
Sending wishes to you for continued success!
Maria W.
I drink one Profect daily, just as my little insurance policy about getting in enough. Still work on mostly proteins, cottage cheese and fruit int he morning, salad with protein lunch and some fish, chicken, meat at night with veggies. Yes, I snack too, but stay under 1500 calories/day.
Enjoy the journey,
Carol
I still drink them, matrix hot chocolate in the morning, and an achiev one at lunch. I know others that have stopped at this point, but I feel better when I supplement protein. Each drink has at least 20 grams of protein. I also eat protein foods too, but because I have a hard time eating the lower fat meats, chicken and fish, I eat very small amounts of red meat, thus supplementing with the drinks.
