No appetite!

I'm 15 months post DS and have lost 185 pounds. I hit goal about 4 months ago and have been struggling to keep some weight on, I'm down almost 10 pounds below my goal (I'm 6'1 and wanted to be at 180 pre-plastics, I'm now at 170 and still loosing). I saw a plastic surgeon who advised me to level off at about 180 because he estimated about 15-20 pounds of excess skin and breast tissue to be removed (I'm a 36 DDD) and he did not want me to be too thin...imagine that!! Anyway, I'm struggling with wanting to eat anything! I wake up for work at 5:30am and I'm not hungry. I'll choke down 1-2 eggs and cottage cheese to get the protein, but then I have to set the alarm on my cell phone to remember to eat lunch or else it will be 4pm before I remember to eat! Nothing tastes really yummy anymore and eating is a chore. I was hoping this would resolve and perhaps it still will, but in the interim, this is frustrating!

I went thru a phase like that awhile back too Denise. It lasted for a few months and then my appetite returned. 170 is very thin for 6'1"~just keep trying to at least get in your protein daily, even if you have to do shakes, so that you don't get sick! Good Luck! Tracy B

Are you having trouble with the actual process of eating/keeping stuff down or simply with *remembering* to eat? Are you having any sinus problems? Taste is very intricately connected to smell, and it may be that your sense of smell is causing you issues. Have you thought about doing a protein shot in the morning, and then waiting an hour or two to actually have FOOD? I've found I don't like to eat within an hour or so of waking up, so often eat immediately after I arrive at work. The Profect vials are like 25-40 grams each, so they don't take up much space but provide a lot of bang for the buck.

Sounds like you should add some liquid protein into your diet! I have an appetite which I wish would go away many a day! Sue McD 306/186/150
