Merry Christmas everyone ~ Finally a good Diagnosis for me....

Welp, I fell out of the boards for a while now due to my being a self proclaimed failure. I am not sure if anyone remembers my whining but for approx 3 years I have had problems with food, arthritis pain, and other issues that my surgeon basically ignored and my anti-bariatric pcp attributed to this surgery and prescribed pain meds. I got tired of whining and sought out a new bariatric doctor, walked in and said you are going to think I am nuts but here's my list. After about 2 weeks of testing he nailed my problem... Bad gallbladder and possibly a malfunction with my pouch which is allowing food to go into the bottom part and where the bottom has atrophy it is causing great pains (that's the jist of it). After yearly upper gi's and ultrasounds of the gallbladder where the previous doc said all was well (visual testing only), the new doc sent me for a hida scan (sp?) which checks the functionality of the GB and it showed that my GB was not working at all (something about 12%) so I am scheduled for a GB removal and scope of my pouch on 1-3-07. I am a little scared as bypass surgery is the ONLY surgery I have ever had and the thought of going under scares me to death but if this will help me then I am sooo there. So, the 50+ lbs I have gained and the 3 years postop out of 5 years total I lost in vain in my weightloss efforts may reach a turning point very soon as hopefully I will be able to have my issues corrected so I can get back on track without the mulitude of problems I have had. I know it sounds nuts but any "whole foods" would kill me, but processed food didn't. Go figure... I had to plan to have a salad because I knew I would be paying for it. That went for high protein foods or drinks, they killed me... Sounds nuts right??? I am not sure why I felt compelled to post, but I have been lurking and am really thankful for all of your experiences that you share as I gave me the strength to go forward and find someone who didn't think I was nuts. And a note to post ops - you know your body, if your doc does not listen to you find another one. It took me a while but I did and am glad. Sorry about the rambling, and I wanted to say thanks and Merry Christmas! Val~
