Trouble maintaining weight
I didn't want to post this to the main board because I know how much this sounds like a problem that I should not complain about but, I have hit my goal and am having trouble maintaining my weight. I can't seem to eat enought to hold on to my weight. I have even stopped excercising hoping that if I worked out less, and used less calories it would be easier. It is a fight to get enough food in. All those high calorie high fat foods I use to eat I can't any more because I will dump at the drop of a hat. And my tolerance for a lot of volume is pretty low still. So every day is a struggle.
If anyone has any suggestions on anything I can eat to help i would be greatful.

Delories, you are about 9 months out ,you are still in the losing stage but your body will slow down and you will stop losing weight.I t was just the oppisite before but as long as you do not lose too much weight that would endanger you health, just keep an eye on it.I f you are really concern talk to your doctor and your pcp and ask them what they think, they know you better than any of us on the broad.
I am 25 lbs.below what my doctor thought I would be.My body had a different idea and I am healthy.
Check it out if you are concern............bob
Thanks Bob, but now I am 5'8" and weigh at 130# and still loosing. I dropped weight like a rock. I was amazed at how fast the weight came off. The 140# was suppose to take the full 12-18 months to come off not 8 months. My whole system changed. I did the surgery more for the co-morbidities than the actual obesity. I had gerd so bad it was making my asthma so bad I was on oxygen 24 hours a day. Now I am off the oxygen and am able to walk 2 miles at a time. I also had fatty liver disease from the meds I took to control my asthma. Now all I want is to keep the health I fought for.
Stronger lungs and a healthy liver and half the woman I used to be. Now all I need to do is keep the muscle mass I have and hold my weight until I can eat comfortablly enough to maintain.

D,
I had the same "problem."
It IS alarming and it's good that your monitoring your weight!!
I suggest that you discuss your weight and options with your doctor(s).
When I consulted with my surgeon, he asked me to continue to monitor the weight and to call him back if I was not able to stop the losing within a month and/or I had lost another 10 pounds. If I had found myself at the point, there is an enzyme he'd have put me on that aids in slowing down the digestive process. In the meantime, I was to "break all the rules" such as drinking with meals and eat more meals and/or snacks. I did those things but I think the one thing that really helped the weight loss to stop was drinking a high calorie beverage. I drank Carb Countdon @ half a gallon per day. This, along with breaking some rules stopped the weight loss and helped me to maintain. I still drink the high calorie beverage but now I drink Mootopia which is better but I could only get then b/c we moved to Texas. If I slack off on the Mootopia, I start losing again. Also, the futher out I get, the more I am able to tolerate fat and sugar. Yes, it takes more to dump then it did before so I am able to eat some other things to help keep the weight on. The crazy thing is that it is an odd balance and I have to watch it; otherwise, I would start gaining and I don't want that to happen!!!!
I hope this portion of my story helps you and that you and your doctor are able to find a course of treatment soon!
Hugs,
Vanessa
You're welcome! A word of caution -- Carb Countdown is not lactose free. If your lactose intolerate, it could bother you drinking so much. I'm not sure where your located but HEB sells Mootopia and it has more protein, low carbs, and lactose free. You can pick up some Lactaid. That works for me in a jam. Good luck and keep us posted!
