Well, since I am on the west coast I haven't eaten anything yet, however I wanted to go through what I ate yesterday I didn't track as well as I wanted to because I got busy---at least that is the excuse I am using, but I did make a very conscious effort to not nibble on garbage.
B-1 slice of toast w/melted cheese-180 Calories
S-handful of low fat wheat thins with 1 slice of cheese-140 Calories
L-Grilled Chicken Salad from z'tejas-have no idea how many calories plus I did have a very small slice of their yummy corn bread, I drank water and tea with lunch (350 Cal?)
S-small serving of leftover kung pao chicken-those dang leftovers! (200 Cal?)
D-halibut, risoto, italian pepper salad (300?)
3 glasses of wine (300?)
No evening snack
At some point during the day I did have a square of chocolate that equaled about 90 calories.
I might be overestimating on some of those calories because my portion sizes stayed very small, but still it was a heavy eating day coming in around 1600 calories.
I also did not exercise yesterday because I am still really sore from Sundays snowboarding excursion---and my period started so all around I was just in an ugly funk....
Today will be better......
Krissy,
let me tell you about yesterday...

sometime in the afternoon, 1 cookie, 1/4 cup lasagna see where this is going, they bring food into work and I am off and running...forget counting the carbs here

Its really tough to stay motivated during the holidays to work out. I am lucky because I have a work out buddy, we call each other and get the other to come work out with us. We also did a class together throughout November, it just ended though so we are trying to re-create what we learned in the class and just do the same workout that we learned.
You aren't really eating that bad, but like you said its those non-essential carbs like rice and pasta that do you in.....
Tonight for dinner I am going to make a spaghetti squash...have you ever made that? Its a great alternative to pasta and you can put sauce on it or just eat it with butter or even plain. I'm also going to make a lemon chicken dish.
My boyfriend likes rice with almost every meal which I wish he was more of a vegetable eater becauses then I could just make another side of veggies~ he also likes bread with meals. Not that I have to eat it too, but if its there I feel deprived if I don't eat it.
On the workout, I joined w/ two cousins, we were going strong but...I just have to go by myself I guess.
Food is another issue, I am PMSing so I eat a ton more. Next week I won't be able to eat, go figure. I do like spaghetti squash, have had it on my menu for approx 3 wks now just not have made it.. I am supposed to be making it w/ an alfredo sauce. Just been lazy. If i do not eat bread, rice etc. I feel deprived too. Need to detox, so to speak and get back on program. I promise to make that spaghetti squash this weekend...

hey guys ... I've been lurking to this conversation more or less, but have you guys thought of food journaling in fitday, and you can give people a link to your journal, and they can critique (or comment) about your choices? I would really like to start doing that, but my fitday journal is pretty pitiful right now (besides my nut has kind of banned me from fitday for the moment) ... just a thought ... kudos to you all trying to be "accountable" ... I'm working on getting there too ...
Take care,
Karyn
