I'm a little over 2 yrs. out and I have also gained 17 pounds. Those size 6/8 don't fit anymore! I determined to go back to what worked for me following surgery: protein 50 powder, mixed with 1% milk (acidophilus) half a banana and a bit of vanilla in the blender. I'll get tired of it again but went thru too much agony to let my weight get back up any higher. I'm at 170. Target was 153. I even got as low as 147 but my cheeks sunk in and everyone said I looked sick. The six extra pounds helped my appearance. I was not tempted by sweets for over a year; then my brother died of colon cancer. All the food brought to my SIL's was healthty except for some little pastry things with strawberries in them. I thought I'd try one, didn't get sick so the next day I ate another one. The extra 17 lbs over the last 14 months can be attributed to one thing: I let go of my promise to myself. Can't blame it on the sorrow of my brother's death or any other excuse. I'm the only one who can get it back off and I plan to do just that! Good luck to everyone struggling to maintain thier ideal weight.

Rebecca, I am only now getting ready to have my surgery. I don't know if it helps to go back to the beginning. You have gone through so much, don't let that go down the tubes. You can do it. I know I can't say how hard it is yet, I'm not there until 12/26, but I will definitely be praying for you. Believe in yourself, and if you have to talk to yourself. I don't know if you are a christian, but if so, remember He is right there beside you, and He will take control, but you have to let Him. Hugs, Beth

Hi Rebecca, this is the firsttime I have replied or even gotten onto this site, so be patient with my hesitance. I am looking into wls, and don't know for sure that this is the right thing to do. I have been in Overeaters Anonymous for ten years, and went from over 400 pounds to 160. I was the same weight, pretty much, for 7 years, and then started to get complacent. In three years I have gained 100 pounds back. And, I dont eat sugar! The program works if I am willing to the foot work, and I am looking into wls because it would take the food out of the equation....or at least I thought it would. ANyway, I;m thinking of you. Kath
