Thank you rebecca arkansasangels2004@yahoo.com
Start your program all over like you just came back from the hospital. Or you can just do proteins, and greens. It worked for me. I to love sweets, and chips . Try to stay busy or just go outside and walk around. When i sit around all i want to do is eat to, it's not easy. If it was we would not need these surgery's. The scale will drive you crazy, so limit your weigh in to a couple times a week. I'm praying for you girl.
Rebecca, A member of my support group said she found herself
In exactly that same predicament.
The Dr.'s Recommendation?
"Start Over!"
He had her go back to a week of Liquids,
Followed by Pureed, the Mechanical Soft, etc...
The plan was to Learn to use the Pouch.
And Establish new habits through Drastic action.
She had skipped the "Learning" part her first time out.
She now is at goal and said that-
"Putting the Hard part of re-Learning how to eat
At the beginning, made the later part much easier."
Sounds like the depression needs to be dealt with.
Consoling Is worth it's weight in Gold
Where Emotional eating is concerned.
Do something drastic like throwing out all of the sweets in the house.
Flush 'em if you've got 'em!
It's a lot easier to Avoid getting in the car and driving to the store to buy something
Than it is to open the cabinet and have it on hand. Yes?
Hang in there!

Shame on whoever told you that you "would not gain weight again"---NOBODY can make that promise!!
The others are right on target---get the sweets and empty-calorie junk out of the house pronto!! And start over with what worked for you before. Protein first, then veggies. Don't drink with meals.
And of course, first and foremost---address your depression with a professional.
Stay here with us, we'll help you get through it.

I'm with you too. I am 3 years out and never got to my goal weight. I could live on crackers, pretzals, and sweets. I am scared to death because I have watched people (3 friends) who had the surgery and they are tipping the scale at their original weight. Its a tool... but its not the entire answer. I am now trying to connect to other folks and get some support so I don't go down their path.
Janice!!!
THAT'S THE SUCCESS STORY
That I love to see!!!!!
I've seen so many folks who had some "re-bound" weight,
And got their routines Back on Track!!!
Above all of the -
"Lost 25 lbs in first 2 weeks from hospital!!!"
It's the --
"...I Turned it Back Around!!!" posts
That give me the biggest thrill!
Keep up the Awesome Work!!!!
Thanks for the Smile!!

Hi Rebecca
I was two years out on Friday, December 15th. I am still losing, very slowly. I started at 294 and I've lost 122 pounds. I still need to lose another 22 pounds to reach my personal goal. I still watch my intake and my exercise routines very closely. I often use fitday.com to track my intake.
I believe the maintenance will require a life-long committment. I don't eat sugar, at all and I doubt that I ever will. I don't miss it. I buy all kinds of treats for my grandkids and don't even feel tempted by them. At work, I supply goodies to the break room and never eat them myself. It's just part of my new lifestyle.
Make a commitment to yourself and you can get back down to the weight you want to be. Commit to a healthy lifestyle, with a focus on Nutrition, Fitness, Rest and Balance.
Many blessings,
Karen G

Rebecca, refocus, go back to the beginning stages and relearn what you were suppose to do then. I'm surprised you were told that you wouldn't regain, that can't be promised. If we intake more calories then what we expend (that's anybody WLS or not) we will gain weight.
Get yourself back in the routine of eating mostly protein, lots of water, exercise and take your vitamins. Throw the sweets and junk foods away, I saw myself testing the waters, scale went up a few lbs and gained control, you can too.
Come to the boards for support, we here for you.
Best wishes,
Dana
I am over 2 years out, and gained back 20 pounds in the last 9 months, just after having my TT, BA/BL surgeries. I started to go to a support group, and they gave me alot of ideas on how to get back. I was eating sugar again, carbs, and let junk food back in. I had to get set in my mind that I have to make the personal deciion to really take control of what I become! I refuse to be fat again! I cut out all pasta, rice, and bread, and stopped eating my candy, and I look at my plate to see that it is not larger than a cup of food. I also cut out my caffeine every morning. I got a list of SF protein drink ideas, and did that for 2 days. That was 3 weeks ago. I weighed 177, but today weighed 173. If I can do it, so can you! I know I will struggle with my weight the rest of my life, and I hate every day of it! But it is better than the alternative.
