Dana,
Welcome to the Grads Board!
Yep, that's not as uncommon as one would think.
Get in touch with an endocrinologist to set up treatment for your Hypothyroidism.
Check out-
http://hcd2.bupa.co.uk/fact_sheets/html/underactive_thyroid.html
scroll down to "Treatment." To get some info for discussion with your doc.
Ironically, it's just above- "Pregnancy and Hypothyroidism."
See, not so uncommon!
In the meantime, from other's postings about the same over the years?
I would say, nutritionally, avoid Soy products.
Melissa Mermaid had some info about this, (we discussed at the Lexington Convention in passing)
And I believe that Tooter has some info regarding it at-
http://www.bariatricbytes.com/soy.html
Hope this helps!!
Keep us updated and don't be a Stranger!!
Best Wishes-

Hi Dana! I was just diagnosed with an underactive thyroid and placed on medication
by my PCP. He checked my T3 level during a blood lab and found that it was low.
Ask your doctor if he could check your T3 level. I was told that many doctors don't necessarily check this and it can be overlooked.
Hope this helps!! Welcome to the Grad Board!!!
Have a wonderful Holiday Season!!!
Aloha, Pat
