Here is a quick question as more clarification on bloodwork will soon be needed by me , BUT, is a Hematocrit of 33.9 acceptable for us? My Hemoglobin is 11.9. That was just a preliminary result that my PCP would give me. I am >3 years post op.

I always ask for a copy of my bloodwork - the lab sends the print out to my dr with the acceptable range and highlights lo or hi numbers.

Kera, different labs have different ranges. Ask your PCP for a copy of your labs (he has to provide you with a copy if you request one). I track my labs in an excel spreadsheet so I can watch any downward trends and adjust my vitamins as needed. Dana

According to Medfriendly.com: Normal range of Hematocrit in an adult female is 36 to 44. A low hematocrit could indicate anemia from not getting enough iron. You are borderline low, not dangerously low. I would ask the doc what he thinks, find out if he's concerned and find out what he recommends.
