B-12 Injections - Help
I was able to get a script for my b12 . However , no instructions . I tried to call the doc back .. no answer . SO I went on line and got the instructions .
Does anyone here do the injections ...
And Yes Leilani .. I called you as I know you do them .. HELP if you read this .
I already did my first 2 ml injection . I guess this is enough , is what the doc wrote the script for .
Anyone ???
Thanks ,

I have been doing the B-12 Injections for about 6 months now. ( Love it) Once a month and your done. I only take a 1 ml injection every month. I give mine either in the stomach fat or in the hip fat. Dont shot the muscle this will cause it to knot up. You want to keep it just in your skin. Hope this helped out?
Tink,
3 -1/2 years of B-12 shots.
I have different info.
Call your doc to check on what type you have.
If the needle that came with your prescription is longer than ¾ inch,
Then it is intended as an intramuscular injections- (into muscle)
That's what mine are.
In the but or upper thigh is how I was instructed.
It's worked gang-busters for over 3 years.
When I have to take Lovenox shots if my Coumadin level gets too low
Those I take with a shorter needle as- subcutaneous injections.
Those are the ones that go into a fat pad in belly, just under thew skin.
B-12 can be administered either way.
Check your prescription, ask the doc, Cha-Cha-Cha...
But for the quickie-
Look at the needle length. That's the easiest, fastest way to determine what they gave you.
I'm on 1ml per month.
But don't fret about the 2.
There is no evidence of cases of B-12 being harmful at higher level,
Or any cases of OD'ing on it.
Too much? And it'll come out in your urine un-used.
Hope you are doing great!!!
Best Wishes-

Definately call your doc. I slipped and am in catch up mode, so I'm doing 1 mL a week, intramuscular. I understood B12 to be water soluble, so you do not have the concerns about too much building up like you would with, oh, say iron. I have never knotted up with my IM injections, btw, and usually go with upper outer arm. Check with your doc to get the best plan of action for you
