Moving to FLORIDA!!!!
Wow congratulations! Are you moving now mid-winter? My good friend just moved this week from here to Pittsburgh, boy is she in for a shock!
I spent from age 10 to 20 in Seminole which is just outside of St Pete. That whole area is nice, Largo, Seminole etc. It's a lot more congested now of course. Dunedin is north of there, was always really nice. I graduated from Dixie Hollins High which is in St Pete (we won't say what year LOL). My boyfriend lives in Port Richey which is north of Tampa - much quieter area, less populated. Will you be able to spend some time checking the area out before you have to decide?
If this is your last Christmas in the north enjoy it! Next year will probably be a little hard for you, that first Florida Christmas is so different, it's often very tough. Especially the first time you see a palm tree decorated - wow!
Not that we wouldn't want you down here - but steer clear of Miami - it's nuts down here! The housing is out of control expensive and way too overcrowded here! In fact we may be moving over my boyfriends way this summer - if I can get 2 teenagers to agree that is!
Good luck to you - keep us posted!!! Jeanne
I am moving there too! LOL I will be in North Port though, about 1 and 1/2 hours south of you. I am so excited I grew up in Florida (on the east coast in a town called Jupiter just north of West Palm Beach) I loved growing up in that state! I will be moving at the end of May, I am going to be my mom's business partner.
the west coast of Florida is great! Ia m so happy for you!
I live in Dunedin and love, love, love it! Like most other places, the price of property has really gone through the roof over the last few years here but seems to be stabilizing now. My grandson went to elementary school here before he moved to Miami and he really liked his school. There's a nice new middle school close to where I live and Dunedin has a great high school from what I've heard. What ages are your boys? Let me know if you have any specific questions I can answer for you. You can email me privately at [email protected].
