Good morning all -- I posted several days ago "complaining" about my weight regain of about 35# and got the great support and advice of returning to our basics. I have had SUCH difficulty sticking to the no-sugar & low carb issues-- get this-- I am temporarily working at a local supermarket BAKERY ---- BAD place to be-- too easy access !!!1 The good news-- I can quit this week and return to my REAL career of Nursing as I begin a new job Monday. OK- now my question-- if I eat mostly or only protein (such as eggs, tuna, chicken, cheese for example)-- does the weight loss have a better chance of "kicking in" quicker?? This is so foreign to me as I had maintained my loss of 135# until the last couple of months. I had some MAJOR life issues and totally did not pay attention to my deteriorating food habits of eating a LOT of bad carbs and sugars. I have also begun to walk about 3 times a week so far- about 1 or 1 1/2 miles at a fast pace. I HATE myself for this gain-- I feel "puffy" again and I HATE tight clothes -- AGAIN !!! The sad part is I am honestly still not "physically" hungry-- I am, however, experiencing the "head hunger" problem. Love you all- it is SO great to have so much readily available support !!!!!!!!!

Do you think you could completely cut out carbs for a few days? Bread, potatoes, pasta-stuff like that--I realize that some food like milk, cheese and yogurt have some carbs-these foods don't seem to affect me but you might want to experiment to see if they bother you. I'm mostly troubled by the white carbs--white flour, small amounts of sugar, potatoes. I find that these carbs give me the 'munchies'. If eat them- I'm looking for snacks all the time--if I stick to high protein-I don't. Just a suggestion, different things work for diffenent people. Be sure to drink lots---fills you up!-plus we often think we're hungry when actually we're thirsty. Good luck,,,I know you can do this!!!!! Wanda

Its so great that you're getting back on track - you should be proud of yourself. I think if you focused on protein and seriously cut down on the bad carbs, the weight will come off quickly. I think its more important not to beat yourself up over this - forgive yourself and move on. If you keep that negativity in your head, you won't be able to focus on your goal. Just give yourself a few days of feeling like crap and maybe having a headache from cutting down on the carbs before you give up - just give it time and it'll work. And you started walking! That's fantastic - keep up the good work - you'll see - it'll come off.
