still sick after 17 months out
Amy:
Oh my goodness, you poor thing. I sincerely dont mean to offend you, but I am sorry to say that you look very ill in all of your pics. You look and sound as if you have become anorexic after your WLS. I pray that is not the case. You absolutely were not "chubby" at 120#. What are you eating? How much and what kind of protein are you taking in each day? Are you doing protein shakes at all? How can I help you?
I hope that you received some help at the doctors office and have a solid plan to start your way back to health. Please, please keep us posted on what the doctors have to say. I will be thinking of you

I think I look very sick in all my pictures too. I know I look bad. I have black circles under my eyes. I look like a very old woman. I ask the doctor if I was anorexic and didn't know it. He said no. I wouldn't have cussed him out for being 88 lbs. And I wouldn't have got the tpn (jars of fat) ran in me for 8 days. I want to look nice. I have 2 kids. I don't want to look all dead for them. About all I can eat and not get deadly sick is toasted bagels. I don't worrie or even look at calories anymore. It don't matter. They found last month that my pancrease was all screwed up. So they are working on that problem. I just hurt so bad up high in my chest. My died at 45 with a heart attack. And I am 42 years old and I think about that a lot. When I get to hurting in my chest. I get scared and it makes it worse. The doctor did lots of test on my heart and said It was in the shape of a teenager..........It was perfect. I just want to stop being sick and enjoy my life and kids. I really think this will be my last christmas with my kids. And I want it to be the best one they ever had.......I want them to remember me.......God bless and wish me luck. The doctor will be calling today....................
Thank you so much
Amy
Amy -
If the source of your problems is related to dumping syndrome, you might see if they can basically undo the top portion - giving you back a normally functioning stomach so that you can eat a wider and healthier variety of foods. You'd still have the malabsorption to help you maintain your weight loss If instead, you still want some restriction, then they may be able to do a VSG essentially revising you to a DS.
What you are going through is not good for your health, and while I can understand never wanting to return to obesity, being a prisonor of an unhealthy skinny body isn't a better answer.
I hope you find answers that work for you. I cannot imagine going through all of this to be as sick or sicker than you were before you started. That has got to be very disheartening.
