Now I am one of you!

A year ago today I went under the knife (laparoscopic RNY); in 4 days I was out of the hospital, in 2 weeks I was back at work. I suffered no complications or adverse effects/reactions since then. A year later, I have lost 140 lbs and have only 13 lbs. to reach my personal goal of 275. Had anyone told me 12 months ago that in a year I would have lost 1/3 of my body weight, 16 inches off my waist and 4 inches off my neck, I would have hurt myself laughing. I AM laughing now, but nothing hurts (ok, my back still hurts a liiiittle bit...). I can eat anything I want; I am however adament about staying away from sugar. I have mastered finding Kosher, sugar-free anything and everything (did you know that Baskin Robbins makes a sugar free hard candy that tastes JUST like a creamsicle?) I will be eternally grateful to Dr. Herron and the entire staff of Gastric surgery at Mt. Sinai Hospital (NYC) and to United Health Care for covering every test and procedure I have needed before during and after surgery. A wish for all of you of continued success and health. Congratulations on all your success! You have obviously worked very hard! Hugs, Tracy P.S. Thanks for the heads up about the candy. I've seen it in the store but never bought any. Maybe I'll have to try some.
