The little pale smiley face is ME! If someone tells me how pale I am ONE MORE TIME...GRRRRR!!! OK I feel better! That's behind us now! Monday my blood work came in from Friday's draw at 9.6 and 28.6. I'm still low but it's improving from 8.3 and 26.3. It's expected that these numbers will continue to rise but I have a way to go for 11.5 and 37.5 (the lowest number in the range). Ugh! All my electrolyte numbers are good! That's good! *whew* Someone please get me off this freight train. I'd like to enjoy my life now. Hugs and love, Vanessa

Most times the pale or grey ghost is due to lack of protein. Are you supplementing? Darlene

Darlene, I do supplement EVERYTHING. I am usually very diligent about this. In the last 30 days prior to my first surgery in the last two weeks, I started to fall apart. I went downhill so fast, I couldn't keep up. There is still some confusion over what has transpired but my understanding is that I had an internal bleed which has now been corrected. One can supplement all they like but if there is a leak somewhere there is no keeping up. It's going to take some time to recover but it will be done. Thank you for your concern! ~V~

Vanessa, I am glad you are doing better. Your H&H is still very low. Will you need to supplement your iron? Continue to get well. Welcome back! Dorothy B. from Las Vegas

Dorothy........ My labs are back from yesterday and it came in as........... 10.8 32.3 That's HUGE jump! We are not going to add anything at this time. My doctor said that b/c of my situation, they usually find that going back to normal diet and supplements gets all the numbers back in line. One has to remember that I was not deficient by any neglect -- though it has occurred to me that I might have been better off if blah blah blah -- you know, people on pain medication say whatever is on their mind -- don't ask them what they think unless you are willing to listen to what they have to say! My PCP will order a new lab in ONE MONTH (unless I don't consistently feel better to warrant an earlier test). They've taken care of me so far -- so I have no reason to follow his order this time. He doesn't want to introduce things (iron supplements) that can cause me to get "backed up" or I'll be in bigger trouble than I am now. So, we will wait. My husband has taken Medical leave to take care of me - so I have time to get well. Thanks! ~V~
