Okay - I have been wondering this question all month! Since everyone is concerned with gaining or maintaining - how is everyone going to handle Thanksgiving and the left- overs? My first Thanksgiving was not a big deal - I was still in the honeymoon phase - second was not really that bad either because I went to someone's house and they were really a bad cook (lol!). But this year is a different story - I am just wondering what is everyone's plans. I have been doing protein only for a while to get rid of the 5lbs I gained and have lost them but I really am nervous! Any advice would be appreciated! thanks! Valerie

Valerie, This year we are going to my sister-in-laws for Thanksgiving dinner and I planned it this way so that I wouldn't be stuck with tons of food in my house. Her house is much larger to accomadate us all so it works out well all the way around. I will be bringing back some turkey to my house but that is it. I am taking fresh green beans and deviled eggs and I will make double and keep some at my house. I still eat on a saucer so I will have one saucer with my food and that will be it! I am also making a sugar free egg custard so I know I will have something that fits in more with how I eat. I think just being creative with it all and having a plan before the big meal comes is helpful at least for me it is.

Valerie, hi first don't be nervous. I am going to stay with my protien, for breakfast, snack - sugar free jello, Lunch or the Big dinner - lots of turkey, a small, small taste of everything else that will be served. I will make sugar-free pumkin pie without the crust. Then for snack - if I can fit it in - more jello, then supper - protien shake and before bed another protien shake. All in all I think I will be ok and not gain - but if the weather is nice I might talk my sons into a walk for a mile or two...YEAH!!! I love those walks with my guys - I learn all about what is going on in their lives, they are both in college. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and don't forget to make some good stuff for yourself and don't feel guilty. Don't forget the WATER! deb k

Deb - thanks for the positive advice! I am staying focused and stick with the protein! I think having a shake for lunch is a great idea. Also I forgot about the saucer trick that Kellie mentioned! I love the idea of taking a walk with your sons! I think moments like that are what the holidays are all about! Enjoy your time with the family! Happy Thanksgiving!! Valerie

I am a little concerned also. I am almost 3 years out and can eat more than I should, My hyusband is 8 weeks out and still having trouble with most solid foods. It might just be him and I, we have not heard from the people we invited to dinner. Don't know if there is a low cal way to fix turkey dinner. For me I use a small sandwich plate to control my portons size. Natalie

Natalie - You might be lucky if your friends don't come. You will do fine! If I can do it so can you! Portion control is the key! I am going to use a smaller plate also! Hope your husband gets better with solids! Valerie

I will enjoy my Thanksgiving meal with maybe just a bite of pie and then that's the end of it. My mother in law cooks and we won't bring home any leftovers so that's not an issue for me, thankfully! Now, Christmas is another story, but I'm not going to stress over it just yet! Good Luck everyone! Tracy B
