The last few days I have been on this site alot. I have got some great ideas on how to get back on track and continue to loss. But I also have heard and read that after the first 18 months. It may not be possable to loss as much weight as I want to loss to get to my goal. Is it possable for me to get to my goal?

Wendy - I definantly think that you can make it to your goal! But because the "honeymoon" phase is over, it becomes more work. You have to monitor what you eat (Fitday.com is where I go) You have to concentrate on better food choices, stay away from grazing and snacks. Drink plenty of water and of course exercise. I think exercise is the most important. I would make "mini" goals and work on those first and then keep working on it. I recently went back to all protein because I had gain some. It was work but I dropped the lbs I had gained and also got rid of the carb demon (Dana's term). I know it is hard and I am not sure how far you have come, but note that you have come a long way and you should be proud of that! Keep on the Boards - it is a great place for advice and support. I don't think I would have been able to meet my challenges if not for the support of the Boards! Keep in touch! Valerie

I sure hope so... I have been told by my surgeon that I would have to work hard for it now.. I am still 60+ lbs from my goal... Makes me wonder if I will ever make it there... Just hang in there you will do it....

If what you want to lose (50-60) lbs isn't unreasonable for your height and current weight, I definitely think it is doeable, easy ~ hell no but with a strong will, determination and a positive attitude I definitely think it is attainable. Remember your tool and the pouch rules and go for it. Keep your eyes on the prize and reach for it. We are here for you cheering you on, offering suggestions and wishing you to best. Dana

Hey Wendy! I'm over 5 years post & maintaining over 3 years now. 292 start 9/6/01 actually got down to 135 in late 02 and WORKED hard to regain. (Down to size 2/4 on 5'7" - I looked BAD! FELT worse) 172 in Feb-ish 03. Worked & dropped to 157 - 159 & have remained there for 3 years. Okay all that to say is: I worked the tool. Still do. It still works when I "make it". I've not "dieted" or any "gimmick" since surgery. Just used the "tool". I follow my initial post-op after-care protocol. i only do a protein bar if I'm away from "food-food" and need to quickly "fuel". My annual blood work is PERFECT. I ride right in the MIDDLE of all the ranges. woo hoo. So, if you've asked your nut how to get rid of the rest - do it! The tool will work when YOU do! Great job so far!
