Embarrassing question......

What do you find to be the best all around product for (*ahem*) gas? Over the past couple of months, this has become a problem for me and I work in a cubicle environment with LOTS of neighbors, sit in a LOT of meetings and work closely with people in the cubicles. AND I'm only one week into my new job and really don't want to be labeled the "gassy girl" and end up with no one wanting to work with me! It's sooooooooo embarassing! soooooo soooooo embarassing!! I have gas-x and just bought some beano - but which one to use for what??? Which one is better? Which one is the most all-inclusive?? Can I take too much? What happens if I do take too much? Is there something better out there??? (okay, so that's alot more than one question...lol) Pam

Gas Happens...at the most inopportune times!! And if you are like most bypass patients..( at least those of us with malabsorption) it is not pleasant!! TRy ordering Devrom..it won't keep you from beng gassy..but it will keep the stench at bay!! Renee

lol... definitely NOT pleasant! true! Keeping the stench at bay is a HUGE start in the right direction, since that is the problem 99% of the time.... although TWICE in the past three weeks there was a definite SOUND factor that made me want to crawl under a rock and hide! (at work no less - right in front of someone) Anyway.... Is Devrom OTC or do I need a script for it? Thanks! Pam

Have you tried eliminating different foods to see if that's the culprit? I know any of the sugar alcohols will set me off something awful.

Lyn hit the nail on the head. There are certain foods that make me insanely gassy. Carbs are the biggest culprit. I avoid them during the day. I have cut out all white flour products and have noticed an even bigger difference. Overdoing sugar gets me too. Certain veggies like cabbage and foods like chili upset my tummy. I eat them in very small portions.

Carbs and sugar are what give me gas. I can always tell when I consume too much and so don't most of the people I live with . But I did find that Beano does work. Especailly if you know your gonna be around alot of people during the day. Some people like the Devrom Chewables (They sell them her, I think). Air freshners are wonderful. This is a good place for a stickup!

Try taking acidophilus every day. It works for me. When I don't take it, I have a lot of gas. Deb

Milk can be another reason for gas problems post surgery. When I began using Lactaid Milk (I like the taste of this brand the best) my gas problems were virtually eliminated. Best wishes! Kathi

Welcome to the "OLD FARTS" club It never fails to happen: you get all "hemmed up" ( yes I am from way down south) and here comes the dreaded GAS. I still try to avoid leafy veggies, celery, and MILK. Fortunately I work at home processing everybody's photos so I can just let nature do her thing and blame it on the dust bunnies. Wish I had a better answer for you.
