I had my surgery 3 years ago and it was a miserable failure...long story short, I need to get the dreaded tummy tuck done and I have medicare...does anyone else have this insurance and were you approved for it? I called them and they were about as helpfull as a rock. Thanks for any advice to feedback! Kari

Judging by your gorgeous picture, I seriously doubt that you are any kind of failure. If you are maintaining good health, then in my books, you are a huge success. Don't only count the pounds, count the years that you have added to your life. Sorry I can't help you on the medicare. I'm in Canada and our insurance does not cover the tummy tuck procedure, unless proven medically necessary. In Canada we must document our skin rashes and medical treatments, to even apply for such coverage. It might be similar with your insurance. You should talk to your doctor. Many blessings for a long and healthy life. Karen G

I hope you have access to a nutritionist. It sounds like you could use some nutritional guidance. The tips and tricks on the board are great, but sometimes seeing a professional is necessary. With those comorbidities, I would highly recommend that you get into a professional dietician / nutritionist. Perhaps their treatment would help you get your approval for the tummy tuck. Best wishes, Karen G

I often t hink of you and wonder how your doing. It has been so long since we spoke. I have a friend in Nebraska that has medicare and she qualifed for tummy tuck. I think a lot depends on how the referral and requests to the insurance is written up. Please don't be a stranger....I have missed you and have sent warm thoughts to you often. Darlene

Oh Darlene, this has been such a nightmare! I told the b/f that when his insurance comes thru he will put me on there and see if they will cover it...of not, he's going to take out a loan to get this done. I can't live in this messed up body much longer..
