Nov. 14 I will be one year post-op. Do you still drink protein drinks? If so, how much? If you don't drink it, do you find yourself more hungry throughout the day?

I'm 18 months post-op and still do 3 protein shake a day along with 3 meals. My surgeon believes in protein supplementation for life. Katihy

my doc does not believe in them, i still use them. i cannot eat in the morning, i just vomit if i try, so i use isofruit 1&1/2 scoops about 35gr protein. with this good start I can sometimes get in my 89 grams with food. if not, i use one more later in the day. i am one year out, he does not like my choice to use a suppliment but i am healthy, below goal and all my labs are great so he can't argue with my results. jan

Being as far out as I am and struggling the way I do, I find them a waste of calories. They do not fill me up and I still need food. I feel good and make sure I get enough each day to sustain, but I would rather have food for the calories.

I still drink protein drinks, I look forward to them. I get in 100 grams of protein a day, however I have to, and the drinks are an enjoyable way for me to do that. Before Gastric Bypass, I was addicted to high calorie coffee drinks, maybe I've traded one addiction for another. It seems to be working though. Erika
