Country Kitchen Smoked Ham
Mmmmm
I bought a 6 ounce package of this product. It contained four 2 1/2 inch, thick-cut slices. Each slice was 45 calories, 1.5 grams fat and 8 grams of protein. No carbs and no sugars. The sodium content is slightly high at 480 mgs, but my jerky treats are also high in sodium.
I had two slices for breakfast, with a peice of fruit and (after 1/2 hour) a coffee.
It was a nice change from cottage cheese and fruit or cereal and fruit. I think I'll be having the other two slices with another piece of fruit for my lunch, too.
Does anyone else eat this product? Is 480 mg of sodium per slice too high???
Thanks
Karen G

4 slices in a day is a full days worth of sodium (2000 mg) so you might want to limit yourself to having your 2 slices once a day. If you do decide to have 4 in a day, be sure to up your water intake to compensate for the high sodium.
I don't count sodium but if I'm buying packaged foods... I do read labels and tend to keep away from stuff that is over 400 or so mg per serving especially frozen dinners though I rarely have those.
I do alot of simple things for meals... deli meats/cheese, chicken salad, tuna salad, deviled eggs, hard boiled eggs. Those are sort of my fall back quickie type foods.
