Good Morning! Okay I am getting back to my vitamins and supplements today. I looked all over last night for them but I think they got lost in the move to Florida from Alabama. I need a refresher course in what to take ........ I am curious as to what you all take especially being grads now! Thanks!

I too need to get back to vitmins. I kinda stopped for some reason. I was taking two centrums a day One in am and one pm. From what I learned everyone is different depending on your needs. I would maybe get physical if you have not had one this year. The doctor does blood work and can tell you what you may need other than just a regular muli-vit.

Hi, Kellie. Yes, please get back to a good vitamin regimen. If you do nothing else right, at least do this!! I believe it is the MOST IMPORTANT thing that we as post-ops must do for ourselves. Get yourself a 7-day pill container, and fill it up with everything you need at the beginning of the week. I have done this from the beginning, and now taking my vitamins is just a part of my daily routine. Here's what I take - and this routine hasn't changed much since very early on. My lab work has been good every time, so I assume at this point I don't need to do any tweaking, but remember things can change, so having regular labs done is very important too. 1 - Centrum daily 2 - 500 mg B-complex 1 - 500 mcg B-12 (sublingual-under the tongue) 6 - Tender Iron (from Vitalady), chewable, sorry not sure of the mgs 1 - 500 mg Vit C chewable 3 - 500 mg Calcium plus magnesium and Vit D I take the Centrum, one B-complex and the B-12 in the AM. Mid-morning, I take a calcium, then another late afternoon. In the evening, I take another calcium, the other B-complex. Then before bed, I take the iron and Vit C. This has always worked well for me. Please make sure the calcium is "citrate" not carbonate. I can also highly recommend the calcium I purchase from Vitalady - it's in capsule form, and although a large pill, it dissolves very fast, and you don't even know you're taking it. Best wishes, Carlita

I take the equivalent of 2 multi-vitamins a day, I take 2 B complex, I take 8 Tender Iron (25 mg each) along with 2 500 mg Vitamin Cs to aid in absorption, I take 2 400 mg Vitamin D dry (I was low), I take one 2500 mcg B12 sublingual per day, I take 1 400 mg Vitamin E dry. I do 2000 mg of calcium citrate usually in the form of UpCal D wich is a powder (vitalady). I take 50 mcg Vitamin K since my multi has none. I take 500 mg at a time (one tiny scoop in protein shake, water, sugar free beverage) with at least 2 hours in between each dose. I take the calciums earlier in the day and then my iron later in the day since calcium and iron interfere with each other. I take 600 mg magnesium citrate to aid with constipation. Because of labs... I also take a 200 mg selenium (was deficient) and 3 milk thistle (for elevated liver enzymes). Kathy

Oh boy I gotta write this down before I go shopping! I did the Calcium chews, the gummy vita's, and sublingual B-12 before maybe I need to add some Vita C ...hmm this is confusing.

Breaskfast 1 Centrum vitamin 9:30 AM 2 Tums (or 2 Viactin) according to my mood that day. 2:30 PM 2 Tums (or 2 Viactin) according to my mood that day. Dinner 1 Centrum vitamin Some will say you need Calcium Citrate rather than the Calcium carbonate you take in Tums, Citracal or Viactin. Maybe that is true for some people, but my bone scan was above average for my age before surgery and has improved since my surgery so the Calcium carbonate is working for me. Great to hear that you are getting back into your routine. I've read so many horror stories about people who didn't take their supplements, which have scared me into being very careful to take mine. Have a great day!

Thanks to all that posted up here.. I am making my list to take shopping with me as soon as I get off work. I am going to start back with my routine this evening! I think just the move and everything got me off track but I am feeling tired and run down so I know it is time to get back on track and get some of my energy back too!

Thanks for the post Shirl ... I am going to get B-12 Sublinguel I bought some and can't find it now. Sigh. I am going to get the gummy vita's again because I know I can tolerate them and I chewed several viactive chews before. I guess I will start back with all that .... I was thinking of maybe trying the big people vitamins now I might could tolerate them! I hate to spend the money since they aren't cheap and then be stuck!
