I Need Advise ? Stricture or Ulcer

I am almost 3 years out. I have lost 143# and have had no problems, UNTIL yesterday. Everytime I eat or drink I have pain in the center of my chest and into my back. It totally goes away until I swallow something. I am concerned that I may be developing an ulcer or stricture. Has anyone else had this happen to them????

A stricture doesn't usually cause pain. Food or drink won't go down. See your surgeon or a gastroenterologist. It could be anything from ulcer to gallbladder. Kathy

I am 15 mos post-op, and I have had 4 strictures...no pain involved in any of them...though when i did have an ulcer, it hurt...good luck!

I second that about seeign your surgeon or a gasterologist. I had marginal ulcers and suffered with them for over a year. I had the same symptoms you are describing but only a dr can diagnose. Then had them removed and darn if they didn't come back. But as of now they are gone and have been for about a year now. Sounds like ulcer problems, but I am not dr or specialist. A simple EGD can tell you in a matter of minutes. Cheri
