I was always cold from my third month out until I had my plastics done. I dont know if its just a coincidence or if it helped "reset the thermostat", but since last November I stay pretty normal. I do get colder easier than most people, but I figure its because Im only 120lbs and have virtually no body fat left. All my inulations gone! Oh well, at least I can wear cute coats and warm clothes now. I hope it gets better for u. Hey theres always thermal undies though lol!

I am 15 months out, and cold as hell! Does that even make sense? I can't warm up at all! lol That's ok, I'll take being cold any day over being fat.

I find it interesting that many who answered and are cold are from the South! Try living in the Midwest! Then you will know what cold really is! I am cold from October until May. Last winter I was so cold in December I worked myself up into a huge muscle spasm in my shoulders from hunching to keep warm. It took all winter to get rid of it! I guess it's all in what you get used to. I dress in layers. Sometimes I'm really cold, sometimes I'm hot a few minutes later. I think the jump from cold to hot is blood sugar related. Maybe once I get that under control, I'll just be cold. Brrr. It's gonna be a long winter.

Hey Lyn, My mom lives in northwest IA (Humboldt to be exact). The last time I was up there in the winter was when my grandfather died. When we left Nashville it was 40 degrees here, got to IA and it was 40 below!!! Needless to say we froze! They just don't sell coats in our area that can handle those kind of temps. My sister and I headed to the store and purchased the last pairs of ladies long underwear they had on the shelf and then borrowed coats & boots to wear to the funeral. When my son decided to move to Humboldt a few years ago I told him he would learn a whole new definition of cold. There is cold, d@mn cold and Iowa cold. He thought I was kidding until his first winter. I will tell you the difference between Tennessee cold and Iowa cold - ours is a wet, cut through to the bone, cold. I've heard northerners complain that it feels colder than what the thermometer says it is. Stay warm, cuddle up with your sweetie! Shivering Susan

I freeze all the time too I never connected it to the bypass surgery though! DUH! Well I thought it was just me funny that we all are so different but have such similar things happen to us with the bypass binding us together isn't it?

I was always freezing up till about 4-5months ago. Although I'm not hot anymore like prior to WLS, I think my internal thermostat has settled. I would of died being up north. I live in S. Florida and was freezing. I couldn't imagine being where it's really cold.
