Scale Weight Plateau vs Inches

Although I have maintained the same weight on the scale for the past 3 months (give or take the same 5 pound fluctuation), I have dropped a size. I exercise (cardio and weight training) 5 days a week and eat about 1200 cal daily-get in all my protein, water, vits, etc. Has anyone else experienced this? Will the scale start to move again. I feel (physically) not at goal yet, I want to lose another 10 pounds. I know my body is adjusting, etc, but have you found the weight loss started again aftr a three month standstill?

Yes, this is perfectly normal. Losing pounds is only one of the ways to measure your success - losing inches is just as important. You are converting fat to muscle, which is why you aren't losing pounds, since muscle is heavier than fat. But this is a good thing to be doing, because gaining the muscle will help rev up your metabolism. And you ARE losing fat. And, yes, the weight loss can start up again. But what you are doing is just great as it is....

Correction fat and muscle weigh the same pound for pound. However, muscle is more dense and fat is more fluff. The more muscle you have on your body will rev up your metabloism and even though the scale may not move it be evident on in your clothing. Mary M. 415/159

Over the last five months, I've only lost 6 pounds, but I've lost two sizes. I think it's pretty standard. Torrey (281/179/160)
